GOTTA PEE LIKE A RACEHORSE...

So, I'm on day 4 of my official start of "Operation Life Change 2006". So far so good...but man, I gotta tell you...when you go from 1 glass of water a day to 8 OF THEM...YOU'RE GONNA PEE LIKE SOMETHING FIERCE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well...I think its 8 glasses. I'm drinking 2 full "Nalgenes" a day. 1 nalgene bottle is 32 and a few ounces. So...I'm taking in at LEAST 64.

But...I'm only peeing out about half I think. So...I feel a little swolen. Is this normal to retain so much water when you start out? I guess so...

This is what I've been doing:
2 Nalgenes a day of water
breakfast: lots of fiber from somewhere
lunch: lean cuisine or healthy choice meal
dinner: small portion healthy homecooked meals.

KEEP ON PRAYIN' FOLKS...I'VE GOT THE REST OF MY LIFE TO LOOK FORWARD TO.

that's stinkin' awesome!!!

not the "having to pee real bad" part, . . . but the "eating healthy" part!

That's really funny! The same thing happens to me when I start chugging the water. I'll pee like every 20 minutes, which is really annoying.

I guess the main good that comes from that is having to get up and walk to the restroom so many times...it forces you to exercise! (at least, that's what I tell myself to make me feel better!)

I'm also going to note the really funny verification word that I have to type in: fatcbbf (fat? Are they mocking me??? Not very nice.)

You will get used to it! I started out drinking the same amount and going every few minutes, but you start cycling it through easier and being able to hold more! :)

It's sooo good for your immune system though too!

Good for YOU!

i have a glass of water at my desk all the time...it takes some time to get used to it...but eventually your body realizes that all that water is a good thing! good for you for being so good on your "healthy plan" (i hate the "D" word...). sometimes little snacks throughout the day make you feel like you're not STARVING at each meal...like an apple here, lowfat "meal bar" there. You can totally do it. :)

when i first started drinking more water, i thought i was going to explode!!! i have a naturally teeny bladder anyway. i find it's the most helpful to drink a big glass of water with breakfast (usually about 20 oz.) then i just keep a full glass of water by me and drink consistently throughout the day.

i think that my body just gradually adjusted to it. now, if i ever have less than 64 oz. a day, i feel like a big prune. i actually usually aim for more like 80 oz. other thing about water (esp. with the added fiber)--keeps you regular!

i'm with virginia on the snacks. handful of sunflower seeds, granola bar, fruit, carrot sticks. don't ever let yourself feel starved.

very exciting and fun! we should go bowling to celebrate. fun, cheap, and good exercise!!

oh, and to help get some of the excess water out, drink a glass or two of cranberry juice.

okay, final comment, i promise.

the lean cuisine pizzas are so good, as is their sesame chicken, and my friend leigh swears by their new paninis.

I drink lots of water too. It takes your body a while to get used to having that much water intake, and it will realize soon that it doesn't have to hoard it - you're really going to keep drinking more!

It will take your body a while to "detox," but once you do, you will fill feel GREAT!

I'll second Karen's post about the Lean Cuisine (owned by Nestle, my employer). The Lean pizzas are really good, and you should try out the new Lean Pannini's...they're FABULOUS, and still healty for you. look in your local Walmart store's frozen dinner section!

Yes, that was a shameless plug.

I didn't actually "join" Weight Watchers, but a friend of mine did and has passed along some of her tools and I gotta tell ya, it's been super easy! In fact, I have a hard time eating all I'm supposed to in a day - probably because of all the dang water I drink!!! It's been about 1 1/2 weeks so far and I've already lost a bit over 5lbs.!! WooHoo!! Good luck on your weight loss.

Well, as long as we're plugging shamelessly...Nelson, would Nestle, purveyor of my beloved Lean Cuisine Margherita Pizza as well as many other tasty treats be interested in donating snack items to my non-profit adoption agency's upcoming Tennis Tournament--Benefit for Bethany Babies in May? The proceeds from the tournament benefit children, birthparents, and adoptive families in this area.

That is just SO awesome and SO hard to start doing...

Good job...the peeing will slow down eventually...but of course not nearly as fast as you would want. : ) And the bloating will go away as well.

Sad thing is that if you stop the 8 glasses/2 Nalgenes a day and then start up again a few weeks later, you have to go through the WHOLE HORRID process again! Ahhh! So frustrating...so keep it up...it only gets better!

Awesome job!
