5 POUNDS A MONTH...

That is what my ob/gyn has prescribed me to do. I'm supposed to lose 5 pounds a month for the next year...totally in a wopping 60 pounds by August or September of '07.

My OB/GYN was very kind in telling me this. Unlike my FAMILY DOCTOR WHO IS A ( in my mind ) POO POO FACE AND DOESN'T CARE ABOUT YOUR FEELINGS WHEN TELLING YOU THAT YOU ARE FAT AND ARE GOING TO DIE FROM IT SOME DAY!!!!!

Ok...ok...he didn't REALLY say it quite like that, but he wasn't at all sincere like my ob/gyn.

And...My nice doc said that I should have NO problem conceiving next year! (unless the "infertility gremlin" wants to hang out and play) But, when I do get prego...I'll have to be on an extremely strict diet. Well...BOO HISSY TO THAT!

So, he suggested that I try to lose 5 pounds a month for the next year.

That doesn't seem un-bearable. But, then again...I AM the one that said in January that I was going make this the year of "life style changes". No change yet...and the year is coming to a close. What a typical "Shelli" thing to announce.

Oh...I'm such a dreamer.

Oh Honey! I'm with ya! Remember... I said the same thing about this year? Hmmm...guess who hasn't changed at all either. I hate that about myself.

But I'm excited about September. I'm watching an episode of Veronica Mars Season 2 everyday as I use my elliptical...that's 40 minutes of exercise. Wish me luck!

the year's not over yet, amiga. you can do it, but you can't do it alone. small steps. little choices. call me when you need an extra boost. 5 pounds a month, so that means...20 pounds by 2007.

oh & i so need to exercise! no one is perfect..

Jaime...I'm gonna call you!

Sarah...you gotta tenderly encourage me.

Abby...Since I don't know you (except from this) and I can't see you to punch your lights out...you are the ONLY one allowed to chew me out for being bad.

You can SO do this! Set yourself up some fun little incentives as you reach your 5 pound marks. Every good goal is SPAMO:
--Small (breaking it down, which you've done)
--Positive (which yours is...so you'll be healthy to have a baby next year)
--Achieveable (which you CAN!)
--Measureable (step on the scale)
--Observable (which people will...rowrrr!)

hahahaha!!!

I would NEVER chew you out! Unless I'm gonna yell at myself, too! (Which I should...I should totally yell at myself! : ) )

I have such a weakness for sweets and a lack of wanting to exercise. Dang it! Why? Why? Why?

Anyhoo...let's keep tabs on each other... So far this week, I've exercised twice... How bout you?

Also - found a great book that I tried earlier this summer and it worked GREAT! (Why did I stop using it...not sure...but I'm gonna start again.) It's called Small Changes, Big Results. It's awesome! Here's the link to it on Amazon: http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=br_ss_hs/104-8805808-2623151?platform=gurupa&url=index%3Dblended&keywords=Small+Changes%2C+Big+Results

Good Luck on the 5lbs a month. That's pretty much my goal, too. And is also so I can lose weight before getting preggers.

You Can Do It!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I just KNOW!!

Hey, you're a memeber at the HPER, right? I've been thinking about going in the early morning and would be much more motivated in getting myself there if I knew I had a buddy waiting to work out with me...whaddia say?

I unfortunately say that the Hper doesn't open early enough for me. I have to be at 7:30 meetings 3 out of 5 days of the week...and the other 2 days, I've got to be here before 8am.

If they would JUST open at 5:00 or 5:30, I would TOTALLY be all about that.
